I find this article interesting. However I don't use a PC, I use a mac. When I install AOL, the software verifies my modem and goes thru the motion of setting up my access via their phone numbers despite the fact I have @Home as my ISP.

All I need to do is add a TCP connectin and under preferences, click on AOL link. There is a button to restore my configurations. Does AOL not have that ability on 5.0? I would find that odd since it has been on Mac since 3.0.

Could someone in the PC world enlighten me.

Thanks,

Merylee

Dear CJ: I installed AOL 5.0 and sure enough suddenly some other programs would no longer work. However, I found that when I went to the affected sites and downloaded their programs they then worked. So I dont think its a permanent problem. I did click on the yes and yes I didnt understand it would create any problem. I will say IMHO AOL 5.0 is much better then 4.0. JDN
