<So please tell me where the big increase in chip volume will come from prior to Dresden letting loose? >

Conversion to 0.18 about doubles the Athlon production without increasing the number of allocated wafer starts. K6-2s on 0.18 should also give more units than K6-2s in 0.25.

Greg: Aslo(sic) Sanders said AMD expects to make 25 million chips in y2k., well at 6 million an analist pointed out AMD is already at or close to the 25 million run rate. So please tell me where the big increase in chip volume will come from prior to Dresden letting loose?

Sanders reiterated twice, that they will produce over 25 million .
I think they can do 35 million this year, with increasing ASPs.
He also said that AMD has "...more capacity right now before Dresden than most analysts believe AMD will gain in share."
