Good points koanhead. In the stocks that get good press in the US as well as Canada we should be watching Green Line and TD Waterhouse closely to see if there are a lot of buyers coming out of there.

If we see a momo that shows these 2 houses as biggest buyers we should hold the stocks a little longer I think than we normally would. The reasons for this are:

1.The American interest will absolutely take the stock much higher than if only Canadians were in it just because the Americans have more buying power (their population is at least 10 times ours and they have probably at least 20 times the buying power that Canadians do).

2. There are likely to be more orders being taken out at the ask and therefore more upticks than we would normally see ... a good example of this was the activity we saw with the buying in INP-T via Green Line.

3. The American interest will also create more opportunities for short squeezes taking the stocks even higher. I think anybody who shorts a sub $5 stock that has alot of US buying coming in risks losing everything they have. It's not a risk you want to take because you can get completely wiped out in a matter of minutes. Just think about how long it takes you to get your orders executed during busy times ... do you want to take the risk of being short on a $2 stock that goes to $10 in 10 to 15 minutes while you try to cover your short online? I don't think so. That's why I don't short these kinds of stocks even when it looks like a good short. I don't need that kind of excitement ... you can lose your house doing crap like that.

I keep forgetting you're an American koanhead because you trade mostly Canadian stocks. It is so ironic that the best trader in the Canadian stocks lately is an American because you hold them longer than we are willing to. That proves the point I'm trying to make that Americans know how to play these stocks even better than we do and are not afraid to hold out for big gains. We Canadians see short sellers and we run like hell but the Americans just keep buying because they know that will squeeze the shorts and take the stock higher. Look at what happened with Corel ... that is a perfect example of a short squeeze caused purposely by American buying because they knew the stock had alot of Canadian shorts in it. The Linux mania of course made this squeeze possible also.

Lola:)

Hi Koanhead:

If you don't mind, would you please post some of your favourite mining picks. I think this is the year to get back into junior mining plays BWTHDIK.

TIA
