How about this for rambling speculation? We know that they will buy an existing division from a company rather than the whole company (eg Varian Thin Films). Also, we know that AMAT with the ETEC deal that some smart people think it is important to sell mask making and e-beam direct-write equipment. So, if NVLS were to emulate AMAT, then they would buy Lucent's Scalpel business or more likely Ultratech's UltraBeam.
