Jim - <I really don't know what Intel did yet but looking at the stock price it appears they pulled a muck-up quarter out of the gutter to the benefit of the shareholders. To this end they should be trusted and commended. It appears they will pull out all stops.>

To paraphrase Bryant, and I concur, it ws a good solid Q.

Capacity going forward in the short term is some what problematical, but all backlog should be caught up by the end of Q1. Going into the Q with precious little inventory (would like to have a little more in a perfect situation).

Jim, Re: I really don't know what Intel did yet but looking at the stock price it appears they pulled a muck-up quarter out of the gutter
to the benefit of the shareholders.

Call it what you want, but I maintain that if Intel were any other big tech company, you wouldn't have heard one tenth of what you did. Intel draws controversy and muckraking like no-one else. Case in point, did you see this one about Cisco? Bet you 10 to 1 it gets next to no publicity.

Intel is a tough stock to own in terms of daily FUD affecting it. Even a company with no customers and questionable product (Transmeta) can hit the stock with a press conference. OTOH, there are ALWAYS companies, from here to Japan, coming out with "Cisco killer" routers that get just minute attention. CSCO keeps climbing :-) like nothing else was happening.

Welcome back,

Tony

Jim - Re: "I really don't know what Intel did yet but..."

Why don't you at least read the Intel earnings release after your 10 day ski vacation before you start expressing totally uninformed opinions. Go to the Intel investor relations website and do your homework.
