Yeah- you can't SAY them, but people still think them.

It would be better if people didn't think that way (maybe, but who can tell- really- because it might change us in other unforeseen ways), but they do and to some extent our "bad" traits are as hardwired in as our good (or at least that's my theory and I'm sticking with it until a better one comes along.)

I think the worst thing about Political Correctness is that people still think exactly the same way they did before- they just don't feel free to talk about those thoughts (except with other people who they know are like them, which is determined by slowly creeping about subjects and using coded language until one of the parties feels safe enough to be non-pc and is accepted)- which results in a sort of underground clubbing of the non-pc variety.

If not talking about non-pc issues actually changed our brains to make us pc maybe it would be less stupid- although I don't entirely agree with what PC is trying to accomplish. But it doesn't change the way we think.
