if you only make this play once for a short term, the loss of interest on the short sale is immaterial. if you make this play on the consistent basis, however, i submit that the interest loss will add up.

a shareholder has made a fundamental decision that capital appreciation and dividends, if any, will be more than the amount obtained in a money market fund.
