for anyone... surge protector UL ratings

upon reading a fine article, "the nuts and bolts of pc power supplies" in the february issue of pcworld,

www1.pcworld.com

i came across this statement pertaining to surge protectors ...

"Make sure the unit meets the Underwriters Laboratories UL1447 standard--if it does, it'll say so clearly on the device."

i checked the back of the the two units i own and this number was not found. however, both units did have these two numbers:

UL1363 and UL1449

one unit is an APC model#PRO8T2, and the other is a NEWPOiNT model#S75T.

can anyone please address for me whether or not these surge protectors are adequate? i was under the impression that they are good units, but i am not clear on the UL ratings.

:)
