mark, APC is the gorilla of surge protection. I'm sure all
their devices meet UL standards. Don't know about the other
brand.

But I'd be careful of the $1.99 surge protectors one finds
on occasion. :)

This is the amazing part about the internet. A guy that I only know through this thread has me upside down with a flashlight looking a my surge protector for a number that has no meaning to me.ggg My surge suppressor also indicated UL 1449. It cost $24.99 four years ago so I guess I can show my face here. Doug
