Personal Opinion: MTSN is in a cyclical industry. Tax strategy should be secondary to getting out at the right time.

RE selling, I agree with Howard and with John who have said that the basic investment considerations are much more important than tax considerations with regard to deciding when/if to sell. There was also a brief discussion of this subject two or three weeks ago on this thread. With regard to a basic tax book, the Motley Fool puts out an investment tax guide which I read a year or two ago. It does a good job of covering the basic ground (although their writing style is somewhat annoying!) Its short and to the point, but doesn't get into very complex stuff, if that's what you're looking for. When in doubt, probably best to speak with a qualified tax advisor.
