Not surprised at all that people try to run before they walk. For the best example of that, just spend a few minutes over on Day Trading Fundamentals in the Short Term Trading area. Many sheep getting sheared. The sad part is, many are getting clipped by web publishers who frequent the threads providing "independent information". So don't be afraid to to raise your voice when you see stuff like that being posted.

I actually expect to see more of it.
there are all kinds of commercials about using options, even if they don't mention them specifically... anyone who has traded options knows what they're talking about.

it will be a relatively cheap lesson if newbies start small, get bit and wise up right away.
