OT:

DS, I was just recounting a couple of experiences I had twenty five years ago during a month in Kentucky. No pre-conceived notions, just good memories. No offense felt or intended.

My family is from Alabama...General Sherman burned great grandpa's house...my pa was raised by a black nanny mostly...they all moved out here to Californy during the depression. Never been back, but I have the pics. Some day.

overcome some pre-conceived notions that you seem to have.

Yeah, I will never forget getting up on a 1950 Sunday morning in El Dorado Arkansas, with a hangover, and sitting down in the local diner to a plate of bacon and eggs covered by grits. ewwwwww!!!

I will always remember the "4 G's" of southern cooking.

Grits, Greens, Grease, and Gravy! :0)
