dividends fall when earnings do. don't count on the div yield remaining the same during a recession for alot of stocks. i'm not buying any US stocks till i see how ugly this is gonna be and i think it'll be BAD. the small stocks get smashed in a bear and stay smashed. you thought valuations were nuts for a long time? they can stay VERY cheap for a long time too...
