TP,

Perhaps the answer is yet another new thread. Gorilla Investing for the Beginner.

Your intention is wonderful but I'm not in favor of the idea. I think we stand to learn as much or more from the fresh perspective a newcomer has to offer. If someone is compelled to use the beginner's thread before joining us here, we'll never have that totally fresh perspective from which we can all learn.

<<Perhaps the answer is yet another new thread. Gorilla Investing for the Beginner. This could have short tutorials, answers for those who read, but didn't understand, the RFM, and poorly thought out candidates for consideration.>>

No need. Just like we're all immigrants, really, we're all newbies too--just some further along than others. Especially with regard to Gorilla Gaming, most have picked up the concepts over the course of the last year, and many of our most accomplished contributors were rank amateurs not many months ago.

My suggestion is simpler: just direct newbies to the thread archives, which constitute a first-rate education in gorilla gaming, in Q, in personnel, and so forth. If they start at the beginning and read a few thousand, they'll either become groupies and read the whole thing, or be bored stiff and go away. Excellent triage mechanism...<GGG> (of course, that means we have an obligation to keep the new posts high in content and reasonably low in number, but that would be a good idea anyway, wouldn't it? wouldn't it? wouldn't it?)

BTW, I think every G&K thread and every Q thread should have its own simultaneous lunch in San Diego at a different restaurant on the same street. Then, at a predetermined moment, everyone could get up, go outside, and give the others a Bronx cheer....

TP, I really don't see a need for that. The beginner thread is the header for this one.

TP,

Re: NEWBIES AND LURKERS | OLDTIMERS | ALL | GREAT POSTS

This post by tekboy is one of my favorites of this year and relates to a topic we have focused on today.

Other favorite posts I'll do by PM to conserve bandwidth, but I think this one deserves another look now.
