kkirby: No 'target' taken. I just like poking at the steaks to see if their well done yet. :0)

As for Spock, "It's totally logical."
McCoy, "He's dead Jim."
Kirk, "Scotty, warp drive in 10 sec. or we're all dead!"
Roddenberry, "Can you see the future?"
Spud, "Good night."

kkirby- I'm wondering if Q 'blew' the presentation of their earnings report to the press. No one is focusing on the points you raise, and it seems that these points should have been trumpeted loud and clear. Would Qcomm purposely obscure or downplay the upside surprise on royalties, and the expected 75% gain for CDMA handsets this year? (I haven't doublechecked these numbers, but you cite them and I've seen them on numerous boards this evening). Seems that we shouldn't have to dig so hard to find the 'gems' in this report- certainly the press won't. The headlines will be
"...and Qcomm Warns for 2nd Quarter". That's the sexy, sellable part of the story. If they are pulling a Microsoft, i.e., managing expectations lower in order to outdo them--well, it was done badly, I think. With Microsoft, you can almost see them winking while they solemnly intone about slower growth going forward- they've got the analysts eating out of their hands. Bottom line, they should have/could have had the press singing their praises with the same set of numbers but that didn't happen. The above are just my VHO's. We'll see how these numbers are digested soon enough..keeping my fingers crossed (and keeping my shares!)

<<Those of you with buying power left, what are you going to do if Q! doesn't crater tomorrow and instead only drops marginally, say back to where it closed after-hours? That's not even back to where we were a week ago and another successful test of the low that was put in place then.... Huh? I want answers>>

Based on the volume of posts here recently, let me offer what is probably the 39th reply <ggg> you've received to your request for answers, kkirby. If the street and the market send the stock through the meat grinder, perhaps combined with continued sell-off in the techs, I'll wait until I have beads of perspiration on my forehead, my heart is palpitating and I'm thinking about all the things I could have done with the money had I taken profits. The stocks of these great companies will be in a freefall and most who have espoused a long-term-investment philosophy will be moaning about not having sold a week prior. Then, I'll buy.

If we just have a minor pullback, I'll wait; happy with my core Qcom shares and thinking of the future.
