Kash,

<As this is not going to happen - seems like Jerry has fumbled a major opportunity.>

I am not saying it is going to happen but we haven't seen Superbowl yet, have we?

Chuck

All i know is that AMD is playing a cat and mouse game which is OK.

Apparently they can ship faster parts than the forthcoming 850's and 900's.

And the superbowl is the time to STRUT your stuff - assuming you have something

Kash, if a gov't has a finite amount of gold and they need that gold to stimulate the economy, then most gov'ts would opt to release the gold over time rather than all at once because the longer the run the more likely you will be successful.

I think its the same with AMD. The longer they 'seed' the market with increased MHz product, the better the chances of picking up more customers and spreading your impact. In addition it makes better economic sense....we have witnessed how prices drop on existing product when a new speed grade is introduced.

Its my opinion that what you propose is the easy way to go and that what AMD is doing....what you call a cat and mouse game.....is the tough way to go. It requires inordinate patience and a well thought through plan. Besides its working just fine....and I don't think you want to tinker with something that ain't broke. JMHO
