Don't get me wrong.
I am long ATHM but their service in New Jersey has been
...lets say ,less than perfect in the last 2 months.

E-mail has been a nightmare not to mention web space for my FTP.

I was given a credit for 1 month.I spoke to a rep and he told
me that I should of been credited only a 25% refund because e-mail was
only about 25% of their service.

I asked him if he would buy a car with 3 wheels.
He hung up on me.

Damn I am so frustrated.

Most people don't want to search for the mundane, but they like to be fed it.

Its not even so much that people are lazy (which of course they are), its simply that they don't know what to be looking for. They want somebody to find "stuff" to show them that they did not know existed.

This does not address directly the question of whether @home needs Excite. Its pretty clear that the @home of today does not need it. Whether the @home of the future that rides on many platforms in direct competition with AOL and everyone else needs Excite is still up in the air.

Eric

IPO proposal askFrank.com

When I am looking for specific information on a waveguide, I Ask Jeeves (or maybe Frank). Now that I think about it, AskFrank.com has a nice ring to it...

Before I read your last sentence I had the same thought!

Hey, keep ATHM for a nest egg, maybe we could all pool financial resources and get Frank a new career and us a few million with a hot IPO!
