was dell even mentioned in the article as a potential assembler???

if dell would assemble and brand lable pc's for ibm, it could be good for ibm stock, but not so good for dell stock........dell "perfect" model is not a batch type that ibm would use....dell farmed out the web pc...so why do for another what you aren't willing to do for yourself...

but there is always the chance that dell will buy ibm and china......

It would not be Dell. They target ROIC and want a negative or zero cash conversion cycle. Would IBM prepay and take on inventory? No way.
