Hi Ed, IBM out sourcing to Dell has been long rumored on the thread. To me it makes more sense to go with a company such as Solectron.

I think Dell buying IBM and China is a good deal if Japan is thrown into the deal. <ggg>

Well, it seems like Dell did it this time. They were saying Y2K was not a problem, and never hinted at chip shortage problems. I think the Street may have a hard time dealing with this. I see Dell traded down to 36 and change in the after-hours market. This stock isn't going to see 50 for a very long time to come.

What really concerned me with their guidance was the revenue growth being 30, not 40% as I think most Analysts had been lead to believe. I can easily see the stock's price drifting down into the 20's over the next week.

On a positive note, the Analysts may see these problems as something that is now behind the company. So the punishment may not be to severe.

In any event, we should see how all this plays out before the week is over.
