Limtex and Thread,

I left out two important SanDisk accomplishments for 1999 in this earlier post.

Message 12463370

I wished to add the following...

1) Purchase of the INVOX intellectual properties and hiring of their elite engineering team. The INVOX team has technology that allows 256 different states within a flash memory cell or upto 8 bits of data/cell.

Note:

As Eli stated, the ramp up to the 128 Mbit and 256Mbit level has been accomplished significantly ahead of schedule, as has the incorporation of the combined MLC technology/fast controller into demanding applications such as digital photography. The 128 and 256 Mbit flash architecture was packaged into nearly 100% of the product shipped in Q4 which is an amazing engineering accomplishment given that neither was qualified in 1998 and satisfactory 128 Mbit manufacturing yields were not realized until late in Q3 of 1999.

2) The remarkable turnaround in Q4 of 1999 despite the impact of the earthquake which halted production and caused substantial losses of work-in-progress.
