Great post. I also believe that just last month, DoCoMo came out and said that they did not believe that they would get to the IMT-2000 in 2001 and "that they would evaluate all other technologies at this time". Have to run, but it was posted on this thread within the last month.

Just in case most of the folks missed this (due to earnings hand-wringing, etc...)

Couple of points to ponder...

1) PrimeCo is a joint venture between Bell Atlantic Mobile (BEL) and VodaPhone AirTouch (VOD)

2) PrimeCo is 100% CDMA, and they like Qualcomm

Knowing this... read the following PR, and make your own conclusions, as for me, this speaks very strongly that we'll see
cdma2000 in the states before very long.

This is huge...

I'm confused why DoMoCo and others are interested in WCOM. What's the appeal? Can someone point me to a site or a post that delineates the disadvantages of WCOM. I thought it was just Ericsson's failed attempt to avoid paying royalties to QCOM.
