PB Re << I told him that the supply situation looked really dry. He was surprised at this>>

Wow! I am not sure what a "program manager" does, but I am surprised he is this clueless.

RE:"Kash, this is painful. If one reads my posts from a while back, I have indicated that Intel appears to be capacity constrained across the board. These things don't turn around overnight, which is painful."...

Are you a Dell or Gateway shareholder? They feel your pain. Kind of like Clinton.

Did anyone see the Dell CFO make a fool out of himself on CNBC this morning? When asked about alternative sources he said to the effect that we always looks at other sources but haven't found anyone as reliable and technologically advanced as Intel. Then he backtracked and said. "Well I guess Intel wasn't so reliable in Q4." <G>

PB Maybe Intel is trying to follow Harley Davidson model and have a waiting period for the top end chips (bikes) so the chips become a cult following thing. Look at aapl, some of those guys will pay anything for a better chip. Why sell a 800mhz chip for a mere $900 when you can get $1800/chip if you create enough demand with the right marketing.
