Agreed... if competitor snatches up SDLI. No question it would have an impact on share price.

But how about this... based on CC, JDSU is going to plead to regulators that the in-house producers have 50% of the action hence the ETEK acquisition is no big deal. If they were to add SDLI to their stable then they would still bring total share to under 50%. I agree though. Can't see it happening but makes a good discussion point.

The only company that I can think of that would be likely to consider acquiring SDLI is Corning (GLW). They seem to be making a big push to put together everything they to to be a DWDM component/module/glass supplier. They recent bought out Oak from another company, so I see them as trying to be another JDSU.
