The thing folks need to remember about rags like "The Street.com" is they are in the business of getting subscribers to stay in business. If you ever pull quotes on a list of stocks from Yahoo, you will notice that many have news from TSC. Pretty simple strategy, folks interested in stocks want to read any news on the stock. TSC prints a lot of fluff every day so they get news "hits" on a lot of different companies. The have a lot of guys like Greenberg under a lot of pressure to write, write, write about a many different companies as they can each day. Then these "news" items get hits by interested investors that they hope will lead to subscribers after the free trial. 99% of Greenberg's column is just gossip and fluff, it contains very little serious research but that not his intention. Research takes time and he has little time other than writing his little column. There is not a whole lot of "free" serious research available from rags like TSC. That's not their business, they provide fluff and not serious research. The folks who put serious money in stocks will take the serious look at the financial statements and all the other DD. They will not be asking Herb for advise. How many kids worry about PS2 and the shift to new platforms? None, they are to busy buying new games for the platforms they own today. You think Jr. is thinking, "now lets see PS2 is coming this summer,I will save my money and buy a PS2 when it arrives." Or is Jr saying.."Dude, I just got Wrestle Mania 2000!!!, come over to my house and check it out!!!"
