Bad things happen to sick people Alex and shamefully, some lawyers have made a cottage industry of suing nursing homes for "nursing home abuse". Unfortunately serious illnesses can require treatments which seem horrific and degrading. The alternative is usually no better. I don't think you can equate nursing home care generally with Nazi medical experiments. There may be some abuses but for the most part what I have seen, while unpleasant in certain respects, is far from the Nazi category. JLA

What do you want to do with people who are extremely ill or dying? Most families do not have the time or experience to care for their relatives, even if they did want to handle all the medical equipment, give the injections, take care of the catheters, and the colostomies, etc etc. You can take sick people out back and shoot them, you can have a medical system that takes care of them, or families can take care of their ill relations. I don't know of any other options.

You see a very ill patient, probably dying from cancer, who has to be tube fed and you come to the conclusion we are like the Nazis? The Nazis killed people who couldn't WORK- they would have shot that woman in her bed.

If you think euthanasia is the answer- and I really can't tell what you are arguing for- then I can tell you right now a lot of people don't want to be euthanized.
