I am surprised you make such a statement without any disclaimer with regard to the time line. :)

Mani, I agree with Kash....I think business is slowing so much for Dell that they don't need a second supplier so long as AMD and Intel are about the same in terms of Mhz.

Well i guess my timeline is this year I guess.

If willamette slips into 2001 and is way too expensive maybe dell will consider it.

They run a very tight ship, and putting in a whole new infrastructure will be unlikely.

The only way I see it by year end is if GTW,Compaq,IBM are successfull with Athlons in commercial market.

And i do see some penetration but nothing overwhelming in y2K.
