Talking horse,

Here is some Arizona DEQ news for you.

Hi Tim-

I received a memo dated January 24, 2000, from Jeff Blackburn who was the facility contact for the Santa Maria mill site. ADEQ sent them a Notice of Admin Deficiencies (NAD) letter on Dec 22, 1999 and required a response from them by Jan 24, 2000.

The 1/24/00 memo states: "We intend to return the Santa Maria property to Tom Mills, the original owner, and will be moving our equipment as soon as possible. . . The GWPP is being transferred to Mr. Mills . . ."

"OREX has acquired a patented mine and millsite in the area, and will be directing our efforts to develop the site for our intended activities. . . I would like to inform you that we do not intend to use the touted HGP process at our facilities, now or in the future."

First of all, there has never been an official transfer of ownership from L.W. MacMillan (PM Mining) to Tom Mills. Transfer of ownership/which requires notification AND a fee which we never received. The NAD letter is still outstanding. Since they have submitted an APP application, ADEQ must either deny the permit and request they submit for APP closure or grant another extension to address the deficiencies.
