i suppose there are no govt. inflation measures out there capturing these bonuses. btw, an interesting feature of the CPI lie is the weighting of the basket...if something goes up in price, it's weighting in the basket is simply reduced, on the theory that if beef prices go up, people will switch to eating chicken. this is one of the most harebrained statistical bullsh*tting methods i've ever heard of. how is one supposed to compare current to past price trends that way? in fact the whole exercise of computing and subsequently interpreting the CPI is totally futile. it's also a fraud that's perpetrated on 'investors'. no-one really knows where inflation actually is. but compare the commodity price rises and the data compiled by private sector institutions to the official govt. inflation data, and you will see a yawning gap that has developed over the past 2 years or so. in fact you could drive a truck through that gap. the only people left believing in the big inflation lie are the new era bubble-heads who profit from it. it's disgusting. sorry for ranting...
