Chuck - RE: "AMD may attempt to ramp Flash quickly and take away some wafer starts if the demand situation warrants."

Doesn't Flash require some different tools compared to processors to make it? If so, it makes no sense for AMD to buy .18 parts for Austin if they will stop being used and if the part they are used to make (K75) still has a market. Maybe by year-end when I hope Dresden can take more control of processors.

"<And then Mustang comes out later in the year to add more confusion.>

Why? "

I should have said when desktop versions of Mustang come out later this year. The large on-chip cache and notebook versions will have a place immediately, but desktop versions will still have K75 and Thunderbird to "compete" with. Maybe Mustang will be able to offer even higher MHz than Thunderbird and that will be used as a divider. The year is long and I am sure AMD has a strategy, but I sure would like to know what it is.
