panic mop - <So it says the technologies they are developing will put AMD out of business in 8 years.>

Where does it say that? The article is actually quite informational in a general sense. Thank you for posting it, despite your totally bogus read on the motives behind it.

Maybe Intel will hire a bunch of Biologists and grow those 20 GIG chips on trees? <G>

Panic, <Intel will introduce 20 GHZ CPU in 2008!>

Even I have to wonder what the heck we'll all be doing with 20 GHz on our desktops. Will that barely meet the requirements for Windows 2008?

Maybe in the far future, I should leave the hardware world and help the software world try and catch up.

Thread,

I went to a local Micro Center last week and found it is offering PowerSpec branded PCs with Athlon up to 700. I know PowerSpec is a brand of the Micro Center. The PowerSpec PCs are outsourced. That Micro Center store offers 4 brands of PCs: PowerSpec, CPQ, HWP and eMachines with about 3:3:3:1. My question is if all Micro Center stores offer PowerSpec branded PCs.

I also went to a local Best Buy that still has several models of IBM Aptiva PCs. Are those inventories or is IBM still in the retail game?

Regards,
