I assumed it meant that the secondary was for $100/share. Some say that the secondary is next week.

Addendum to my #2057.

Since submitting #2057 I tried to check the two SEC filings of Jan. 28. One was an S-3 Registration Statement, and the other, an 8-K Report of Unscheduled Material Events. Only Edgar subscribers, and I am not one, can see those filings on the date filed. Others, like me, must wait one full business day. However, I was able to check out the earlier filing to which I referred in my prior post. It was one of two Forms 424 (b) (5), filed 12/30/99, a Supplement to a Prospectus dated 12/30/99.

SI Sy,

Switching subjects from the technical aspects of wireless communication to the financial....

Thank you. All the CDMA talk is putting me in a COMA. :)

The S-3 discusses the secondary offering (not much to worry about, IMO):

[snip]

USE OF PROCEEDS
Unless otherwise described in a prospectus supplement, we will use the net proceeds from the offering of the securities for deployment and commercialization of our network and for other general corporate purposes, principally working capital, funding our operating losses, capital expenditures and operating expenses. When we offer a particular type or series of securities, the prospectus supplement relating to those securities will describe our intended use of the net proceeds we will receive from the sale of those securities. Unless otherwise described in a prospectus supplement, pending application for specific purposes, the net proceeds of any offering of securities may be invested in short-term investments and marketable securities.

The 8-K, though, discusses the possible delay in network deployment due to equipment shortages. It concerns me big-time because it (potentially) affects MCOM's first to market advantage, which is crucial, IMO.

INCREASING DEMAND FOR WIRELESS SERVICES IMPACTS COMPONENT SUPPLIES INDUSTRY-WIDE Los Gatos, California, January 25, 2000 -- Metricom, Inc., (Nasdaq: MCOM), a leading provider of mobile wireless data access services, reported today that it has been affected by industry-wide component shortages, causing delays to production of its network radios. The Company stated that while it may experience some delays in deployment of its high-speed network, based on currently projected component delivery dates, it expects to launch the first phase of its high-speed service during the late summer. However, if the global supply shortage continues longer than expected, the Company may experience further delays.

This statement in today's filing was actually released 3 days ago to the press:

Seems a little ominous that it is now an SEC filing. Looking forward to any other comments on this.
