Gersh re: cleaning out margin stuff, i'd say we've just seen the beginning of that. the biggest increases in margin debt occurred during November/December. most of the high flying stocks still trade a lot higher than they did for most of that period, although some of the late-comers surely got bitten by now. if the market doesn't stabilize soon there may be quite a lot of forced selling - good for those who have their power dry by now, as opportunities will arise. hb
