Matt: I hope this is only syntax, but really...

Viola, you may have just corrupted your cache (temp file)! It is rare to find someone with temp file corruption problems that isn't a chart flipper.

You see there you go again, saying the user corrupted the cache. WRONG, the software corrupted itself. QCharts has to many things that users have to constantly go in and fix. Delete the ContinuumClient.ini file, delete the temp file, come on guys! Write the software so if someone gets a stalled down load for a chart and say after a few minutes it just is not downloading and they click on another symbol or change the time interval QCHARTS DOES NOT CORRUPT ITSELF.

And how about being disconnected several times during the day. If I am connected to a server, why am I getting booted off during periods where I am not changing a thing, just watching? Or, how about the fact that QFeed stops updating during a period where there was no symbol or interval change (just watching again). All of a sudden I get the old second clock ticking off "since last update" and then after a few minutes I get a rush of data. Mean while the old ping plotter is saying all is well. All of a sudden, I find out my trade is under water or my price action point has been passed by...<ng>

I for one am DAMN tired of hearing it is ME. We all know that most users don't complain they leave it up to others! Before the continuing rush of new users after the announcement of lower pricing last Feb I really never had any data feed problems. Charts came up quickly and reliably, I was rarely auto switched to another server and I don't remember being disconnected. I don't remember ever having the data feed pause for a few minutes and then all at once get a blast of catch up data. I was in heaven with QCharts and I could not praise it enough. Nothing has changed with my equipment or software configuration (other than QChart updates). All of the above problems have steadily increased since Feb of last year.

I remember the person that recommended QCharts to me. He is an SI member. He said in his PM don't tell anyone else about QCharts. It is a great product, but if everyone finds out about it, Quote.Com will get over run with customers and the service will start to tank! It seems to me now, he was right...

Matt, if I did not think QCharts/QFeed could get back to where it was in terms of reliability I would stop complaining and find another service. When QCharts/QFeed is working properly, I agree with you "it is as good as I have seen". I want the reliability back to where it was. Heck, I recommended the service to you, REMEMBER? You're just one of the MANY folks that switched to or started using QCharts per MY recommendations over the past year or so.

Personally, I think the fix to the problems I am having is obvious, supply and demand. Get the ratio back to where it was at or above back in Jan 99 and I bet my problems fade.

Regards,
LG

OK, Matt -

Ref this temp folder problem -

Good idea or bad idea to have the temp file automatically delete when the program is closed?

From what you say, bad idea due to "spin up time" when coming back on but good idea to have "clean" data.

My vote goes to clean data - there is NOTHING worse that that bad data because most of the time you don't know that it is bad.

Emini Actual Trade Volume.

Matt, when u get a chance could you look into why Quote.com /Comstock do not provide actual trade volume for the SP?NQ emini. Here is some info from the CME Data Dept:

>> Good morning.

For all contracts traded on GLOBEX, we transmit actual volume of the trade
with every trade message. For contracts traded during RTH (regular trading
hours), we only send estimated volume at the end of the day and the next
morning we send prior day actual volume.

Consequently, for the E-mini S&P 500, you should be able to get the trade
volume. In order for the vendor to provide total volume by contract month,
he would have to track that himself.

I hope I answered your question. If I can be of any further help, please
let me know.

Also, CQG has confirmed that they provide actual trade volume for emini's.....so why can't Quote.com??? This is a very important piece of info which is missing!
