PM'ed to me by a lurker, apparently without post access:
-------------
Nowadays, the Monday night game is tape delayed where I live, which is Anchorage Alaska, so that we can get home from work, pack the babies off to bed, and enjoy. However, it was not always thus. When I moved here, 23 years ago, the tape of the Sunday game was sent up on an airplane from Seattle. It was aired Monday night. Everyone maintained silence about the game until it aired, and it was even possible to get a bet down on Monday afternoon. And not to worry about hearing the result on the news. The 6:00 evening news shown in Alaska was actually the 11:00 news from the night before, taped and flown in. All the shows, would have scrolling subtitles which said "Not current in this time zone." The worst part was watching Christmas specials in the middle of January. It's all true. -- Mitchel J. Schapira
