hey tomato,

try this...

click on 'view', 'toolbars'

then check which ones you want to see. from what you have said, it sounds like 'standard buttons' is not checked and needs to be.

Rt click an empty space on your tool bar, click customize and an add/remove customize program will be displayed that should solve your problem if I understand you correctly.
