I don't see a sustained decline either -- though I really would have liked to see some more signs of capitulation on the SI threads.

I see the agony that people are experiencing from having seen declines in their portfolios valuations since the start of the year -- and from margin calls and call options that are likely to expire worthless.

Perhaps, what we will see is a rally that will cause people to breathe a sigh of relief and then a more pronounced sell-off, which will be more disconcerting to people.

I will watch the 1341 level with interest. I am puzzled by your references to a "friendly fed". I would think that one of the challenges facing the market at this juncture is that the fed is not overly friendly -- even if it is not downright hostile. Can a fed that is likely to raise rates two and three times over the next few months be viewed as friendly??
