I like the man to man defense as your primary defense, also. But I think the switching of defenses can be a great defensive weapon, particularly now, with the shot clock. You really have to have a point guard who can see the defense and make the adjustment from an offensive standpoint. As you well know, every defense is attacked a little differently, and what works breaking down man to man, isnt always effective breaking down a particular zone defense. I don't know how many times I have seen a team come down, after a switch, and either take a bad shot, or get forced late into the shot clock where they are forced to throw up a low percentage shot. So, I like it as a curveball thrown, every now and again, or to protect an inside guy in foul trouble. But I really like man to man, for a lot of reasons, if you have the athletes to effectively match up. It is also, much easier to box your man out for rebounding in a man to man defense, as well. Well, I must confess, I don't have as much confidence in tomorrow night's game, as usual. But, at least Carolina has played better the last week, and I keep hoping they have turned the corner. But they are at home, and it is Duke...Of course, being in the Dean Dome didnt mean too much against Florida St. and a couple of others..but who knows!!
