Regardless of WTO membership or not, China will not be left behind the technological wireless revolution. I believe CDMA will dominate the world in 5-10 years, whichever form it takes. That leads all roads to QCOM. Those that believe those technological roads lead to GSM will be greatly mistaken. I believe the WTO is a non-issue concerning China going CDMA or not - they need/want the technology. JMHO. If anyone read the newspaper today, China has initiated high level contact with the Defense Dept. to begin bilateral military discussions. Secretary Cohen is expected to make a trip over to China in April sometime. Things are thawing with China after the Yugoslavia debacle - there is still major disagreements concerning Taiwan. Republicans are more hawkish about Taiwan than the Democrats. Regardless of one's political views, if the US delivers missile defense systems to Taiwan, does China invade or attack Taiwan - they stated they would. And if that scenario unfolds, does the US get into a war with China defending Taiwan. That is something I don't want to even think about happening, because if that ever happens, one can kiss his QCOM investment and any tech investment goodbye.
