ng - <By the way Paul, now that you've had days to sit on it...did you come up with whether or not AMD's Y2000 eps will be greater than Intel's Y2000 eps...oh, and also, can you do any better than fudd in explaining the lack of significant growth in Intel's sequential Q4 microprocessor sales in light of AMd's 35% sequential growth?>

I haven't done this, and I don't know about Paul, but check out what this guy is saying:

Message 12729814

-- reiterated strong buy rating.

-- Intel 'is now poised to demonstrate both its technology/manufacturing prowess -- traits that enabled (Intel) stock to double in prior cycles.'

-- saw 'substantial upside' for earnings-per-share estimates of $3 for 2000, $3.50 for 2001.

Hope this guy is right, and not you. :-0 Nothing personal :-).

It is easy to show a quarter to quarter sequential growth rate when THREE QUARTERS AGO AMD's CPU sales PLUMMETED.

Intel's CPU sales have monotonically increased - so they haven't benefitted from a self-inflicted disaster.

Can't a SpryBrain like you figure this out without having me to explain it to you?

Paul

Maybe you think I'm as clueless as you - but once again you are mistaken.

Most likely, Intel will have yet another STOCK SPLIT this year - reducing its earnings per share while increasing its earnings.

AMD doesn't suffer from such unpleasantries !
