Could've bounced. I'm buying more June 80 calls.

I hear that a split is rumored? Just conjecture, I'm sure.

DS Thanks! I'm going to ask Raymond for a "Truck" update.

That was an interesting tidbit on the Data General connection you referenced earlier. Since Joanna Karwowska is now Director of Software Development, she must have been key player for Data General's on the software side. It will be interesting to see just what type of system will be used in the new EMC/DG NAS product(s). Hopefully, it will be a re-hash of the thin servers which DG introduced and subsequently pulled from the market. EMC mgmt stated in their CC that they are creating a new sales force to address the NAS area.

Steve Milunovich of ML said EMC included the required Symmetrix systems to arrive at their total NAS (Celerra) sales figure of $300 million. He again mentioned the threat to EMC if the market moves to NAS. In addition, Merrill Lynch added George Gilder & Clayton Christensen to their Technology Advisory Team a couple of weeks ago. I think you and I can see where this is going!<g>

Best,

Duncan

File this in the unsubstantiated rumor category but a friend of mine recently wrote me that MerLynch suggested in a recent report on EMC that they could have an NAS product for sale by the Spring. Can anyone substantiate or refute?
