EMC that they could have an NAS product for sale by the Spring.

From 1/27 Merrill research note:

"...We believe the company will debut its standalone network-attached storage (NAS) product (acquired from Data General) in spring. Management is turning its focus to NAS to compete with Network Appliance. Celerra sales in 1999 were approximately $300 million but those figures include the required Symmetrix systems. EMC will tout its service capability as a key differentiator, but if the storage market moves to NAS, we believe it's not a good thing for EMC."
