Brees, I'm no expert on spinal cord injuries. But I would guess, from what I have seen, that there are quite a few promising experimental treatments being developed that do not involve the use of fetal cells. So perhaps there is little cause for worry that there will be pressure on us to drop the ban you speak of.

(For that matter, come to think of it, why not use donor cells, rather than fetal cells? Could one will one's spinal cord to science? Hmmm...}
