My bet is that the PFG shareholder should be looking for signs of a buyout of PFG by a major. The thought of Barrick is obvious. If this property has the potential the market and the majors think it has, then a buyout makes a lot of sense. Barrick's mode of operation is "don't let it get away" ala Aerquipa. They were criticized initially for paying to much for the company. The purchase looks pretty good now. Also they have to come to grips with the Diablillos situation by June 30/00 or pay US$ 4 million/yr. to PFG to a production decision. CMS has been in this position before and did reasonably well in horse trading with Barrick and the sale price of the company. This similarity of the situations have to be recognized.
