BWDIK i just a novice trader !!!!! ********************************************************************** The Insider Report "The Internet's First Stock Report" - Since 1994stockhouse.com George Stubos: Editor-at-Large insider@stockhouse.com ********************************************************************** The Insider Report Email Alert - Mobile Computing (TSE:MBL) We have been receiving very positive feedback from our subscribers to the Insider Report's Email Alerts however; many of our most timely ideas have come out in the Insider's Daily Fix. The Insider Report initiated coverage of Mobile Computing (TSE:MBL)(www.mobilecom.com) in the February 28th issue of the Insider's Daily Fix. Since then, the shares have sailed from C$3.50 to a high of over C$15 in the past week, closing today at C$10.50. Although the move has been impressive, even in the current hypermarket for wireless deals, we think there is more action to come. Here are excerpts from the Insider's Daily Fix, and then we'll give you the reasons why we're inclined to keep a close eye on this one. February 28th Issue of the Insider's Daily Fix: "The Insider is always on the lookout for the next big wireless story, especially after our big win with Infowave Software (nice 48 bagger!). One of our most reliable sources has brought the shares of Mobile Computing [T.MBL] (www.mobilecom.com) to our attention. Having suddenly come to life after trading at around $0.25 for the past couple of years, the stock is cruising into uncharted waters, closing Friday at a new high of $3.50. Mobile Computing is North America's leading supplier of onboard wireless business solutions to the transport industry. With a market cap of around $150 million, we see T.MBL as a company with technology that has been tested in the field and an expanding audience." March 2nd Issue of the Insider's Daily Fix: "Today's news: Mobile Computing Corporation [T.MBL], a leading supplier of wireless mobile information systems, and Psion Inc., US subsidiary of the Psion Group [L.PON], a world leader in mobile digital computing and communications, announced the signing of an agreement to market mobile distribution solutions for the United States business-to-business market. It is very important to note that Psion recently joined IBM and Nokia in developing an open universal standard for synchronizing data across different computer platforms. We mentioned Mobile Computing on Monday as we have been looking for opportunities in the wireless sector to follow on the success of Infowave, Sierra Wireless, and Research in Motion among others." Where It's At Mobile Computing's deal with Psion really touched of the first big wave of buying in the stock. A key factor by which companies are being valued is through their ability to cement strategic alliances. We believe the focus for future excitement will be Mobile Computing's Wireless Router. This technology that has been developed over the past ten years has been based on a Unix platform. To get away from the vertical markets, that have provided a good niche business but not the immediate blue-sky of large open systems like Windows NT/CE. Mobile Computing is going where the opportunities are, with wireless Internet browsing being the killer-app everyone is shooting for. Comprendi? A useful analogy for Wireless Networks and their various protocols is the European Vacation. No matter which country you start in, after driving for several hours you come to a border that once crossed, there is a whole new language to deal with. One can go from fluency to frustration within a matter of miles. The same problem is experienced with wireless devices. Once out of range of a wireless network, devices specific to certain standards (i.e. Mobitex, Ardis, CDPD, CDMA) can be useless once out of the service area. This is where Mobile's proprietary Wireless Router technology comes in. When provided on the server side and on the actual device, the Wireless Router allows data to be transmitted across all Wireless Network standards. Suddenly, everyone in Europe is speaking Esperanto (the same language). Because Mobile has a legacy of providing wireless systems for the transportation industry, there experience is in building products that can jump from one wireless network to another while choosing the most cost effective carrier and over large areas. Mobile Computing has contracted BSQUARE Corp. (BSQR: NASDAQ) (www.bsquare.com) to port this technology to the Windows NT/CE platform. Specializing in Windows CE and Windows NT Embedded, BSQUARE supplies software products and services for the development and use of PC Companions, Internet appliances, industrial automation devices, Windows-based terminals, and other intelligent computing devices. BSQUARE's expertise in embedded Windows is derived from years of contributing to the development of the Windows CE operating system, from serving as a Microsoft preferred provider of Visual Tools for Windows CE, and from in-depth experience with Windows NT. Through an invitation from BSQUARE Corp., Mobile Computing will be co-presenting at the WAVE2000 Wireless Conference, sponsored by BellSouth (http://www.bellsouthwd.com/wave2000/ss.html) being held next week in San Diego. The Insider will have our ears to the ground and our eyes on the stock ticker for any news from that conference. Insider Report By The Insider Group insider@stockhouse.com ¸2000 Insider Report.
