An interesting question,and I don't know. Historically, through this century, the market has averaged around 10 percent per annum, including the Great Depression. Assuming that we have achieved greater stability, and therefore will not endure a crisis of such magnitude or duration, I am not sure that equities will drop so low so long. In any case, will incomes increase fast enough for us to carry the debt, and will there be sufficient investment dollars to fuel growth? If we are still early in the process of realizing the benefits of the digital revolution, we will likely be fine......
