Richard,

I was wondering if I had just missed her performance last Sunday - hadn't heard that she pulled out. Coincidentally, when I turned on the car radio this morning, the DJ had just played the song (I haven't heard it yet) and was commenting on it. He said that the USA Today had rated it 4 stars (out of 4) but that he thought Don McLean ought to retaliate by recording "Like a Virgin" so I got the impression that he felt as you did.

There are some songs which really shouldn't be recorded by others - this is one of them IMHO.

Madonna sounds like she is singing while doing housework

LOL, trying to visualize her doing housework - come to think of it, trying to visualize her "singing" also! <g>

Gary

Edit: I wonder if she reads this board? If so, I'm sure I'm on one of her own lists. ;)

I just heard the Madonna version today.

I could NOT believe it.

Bubble gum music.....
She could just have well merged
My Boyfriend's Back into it
in a sort of montage......

Yuck.
