Welcome...any friend of ed's, etc...Yes, we've been selling puts on JDSU. I started on Monday, and have done so all week, at Feb strikes of 180 and 160, and March 160. Volatility makes for nice premiums and trades. Haven't looked at it today I've got calls as well some of which I'll exercise (March 110 for instance). How bout yourself? Most likely I won't trade the indexes, but I like to know about it Poet and I spend time on the thread cuz we made it ourself...got our knitting needles and our imported yarns and we weave different patterns every day

Welcome to the thread TRCM! I picked up some July 200 calls on ETEK Tuesday. ETEK is in the process of being acquired by JDSU and is currently selling at about a 20% discount to JDSU shares (the deal is 1.1 JDSU shares for each ETEK share). The reason for the discount is the possibility of the deal not being completed. I think that the risk of this is minimal. A. McLean - How are your Feb QCOM options doing? Are you above water yet? Q has been very strong for the last 3 days and I think it will continue as news keeps getting better and better. Great day in the market today. How about that CREE! Tried to buy some calls on CREE Tuesday but my limit order didn't fill. That is the down side of limit orders. Cree is currently up $34 today. I feel like kicking myself for not just buying!
