Am not concerned over the loss of one order to Ford. Dell has been production limited, with a very high rate of successful bids. I would expect Dell to be concentrating at this time on winning bids for
the more complex and expensive software-intensive systems for
industry as opposed to minimal at-home systems. Sig

Hi Sig, re:<<With the Metrix facility producing 8000 units per day(more now), thats 16000 unit/hours on the rack (they have a LOT of racks)its an area where Dell can continue to get more efficient in computer production.>>

One way that Dell can greatly improve their efficiency is by packing all of the computer's parts and software CD's into the box and just ship them to the customer. The customer can then assemble their own computer. This approach to selling computers would result in improved customer satisfaction and pride in knowing that they built their own computer. <ggg>

I'm sure we would all see Dell's stock take off like HWP's stock has since Carly joined the company.

PS: Although Dell may have a very low out of box failure rate, my daughter's Dell pc arrived with an intermittent electrical short. Guess what, her failure rate was 100%. So much for statistical data.
