Best guess is that many of the Shorts were taken out already because they would have lowered Stops to where the Gap was closed.

Just a guess, of course that's from the perspective of a day trader. A Short Term Trader probably would have, an Intermediate Term Trader or Position Trader probably not.

I'm figuring that if there were big players waiting to selling the Fed news...they've sold by now so the mo mo's should help us out and keep it trucking for a few days. Of course this is just rambling and not data backs this up <GG>
