Oh, dear, I have left SI, taken a leave-of-absence, virtually, but a friend sent me a link to this post of yours, and I can hardly resist dropping by to say that I care SO SO much what you think, oh my GOD do I care, and although I am, literally, many many thousands of posts behind on feelies, and anticipate remaining so, regrettably, I'm sure, I feel certain even without having read the antecedent posts, that they are oh just so very wrong! Why, if they don't know how many people care for your good opinion, why what DO they know? Speaking of God, as long as I'm here, I thought I'd mention this in passing, just sent to me by a friend:At a Family, Faith and Freedom really in Des Moines, the Christian writer Josh McDowell pointed to an alarming study showing that more born-again Christians than atheists are divorced. "Until we are willing to live the Ten Commandments ourselves, we have no right to hang them up in schools!" he said. As Jesus said, "Thou hypocrite, first cast out the beam out (sic) of thine own eye." Matthew 7:5. In a way, McDowell is being unfair, I think, because it's likely that it isn't born again Christianity itself that is a predictor of people being unable to stand each other for very long; it's more likely a tendency to certain concomitant intellectual attributes. Just a guess, though! Maybe I'll go to the Ask God thread for an explanation. I'm absolutely sure they'd have various theories that don't compliment atheists, and it might be interesting to read them. I know that the fact that there are fewer atheists in prisons than there are those of any other philosophical/religious affiliation is neatly explained away. P.S. Did I mention that I care what you think? Especially what you think of mememe. That's just a version of "That's enough talking about me. Now let's talk about you. What do you think of me?"
